Our Intern Program
Diamond Family Counseling is a small, private, group practice. The intern Program is conducted by Tinaz Vevaina, Co-Founder, Clinical Director and AAMFT Approved Supervisor. It is the intent of Diamond Family Counseling to provide professional clinical experience to registered interns who participate in the Intern Training Program. The mission of this program is to assist Interns to develop both professionally and personally, into empathic, skilled, culturally competent Licensed Therapists who are proficient in Emotionally Focused Therapy, also trained in running their own private practices. Tinaz practices Emotionally Focused Therapy, and uses the philosophy and values of EFT in her supervision and in her professional and personal life. She implements this by being supportive, accessible and responsive to the professional needs of the interns. This is a proportionally paid internship.

Interns will
•Learn the theory and practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, individuals and families,
•Different theoretical orientations, with the main specialization in Emotionally Focused Therapy
•Be encouraged to obtain core skills training in EFT
•Earn clinical experience hours,
•Learn to apply Legal/ethical guidelines of AAMFT/ CAMFT
•Learn Diagnoses & Treatment Planning, maintaining progress notes, etc.
•Receive clinical supervision, through case consultation, taped sessions, and live supervision,
•Learn to market their own clients,
•Learn billing, record keeping, account keeping,
•Receive guidance to set up their own private practices when licensed.

 
 

Requirements
A Master’s degree in Counseling
Marriage & Family Therapy, Registered Intern with BBS
Completion of an initial EFT Externship Current professional liability insurance
